In 2022, Jinan Electronic Machinery Engineering School upgraded its outdoor playing field with 80 units of the MS1 Stadium Light, delivering a maintained illuminance of 150 lux.
This training- and recreation-level scheme was designed around how the field is actually used: regular teaching sessions, house matches and casual evening sport rather than televised competition. One hundred and fifty lux meets that brief comfortably, and keeping the target realistic keeps both capital cost and running cost proportionate. Each luminaire was aimed according to a calculated schedule for its pole position so uniformity across the surface stays high, and fitted with an anti-glare visor to keep light out of players' eyes during high balls. The MS1's die-cast aluminium construction, IP66 ingress protection and integrated surge protection were specified for year-round outdoor service, and its high-efficacy LED engine holds running costs to a level a school budget can absorb. DALI-ready control allows training, evening and low-output modes to be switched centrally.
The installation was completed within the school's holiday window. Facilities staff reported a clear improvement in evening playability and ball tracking, together with the practical benefit of no lamp changes — relevant on a campus where pitch access for maintenance is always disruptive.
