15th Liaoning Provincial Games — Basketball Hall

The basketball hall serving the 15th Liaoning Provincial Games was lit with 88 units of the MS2-750W, delivering a maintained illuminance of 1,000 lux across the court area.

Indoor basketball is among the most demanding sports to light well. Play happens directly overhead, athletes spend much of the match looking up, and fast vertical movement makes glare immediately obvious. One thousand lux supports provincial-level competition and broadcast requirements while keeping the court visually comfortable for players. The design advantage came from optics rather than output: a per-position distribution plan that builds uniformity across the court and lifts vertical illuminance for camera and spectator sightlines, paired with low-glare optics that keep every luminaire out of the players' sightline. Flicker-free drivers matter here too — slow-motion replay of a fast break, looked at frame by frame, punishes any instability. With 750 W per luminaire the thermal design carries the load, holding colour stability and lumen maintenance over long competition days, while robust sealing and impact-resistant construction suit the busy environment of a Games venue support hall. DMX and DALI control lets in-play, interval and cleaning scenes follow the event schedule.

The hall was commissioned before competition began. The organisers reported that the court met its specified illuminance, and Sense has subsequently scaled the same specification to further indoor venues.
