Guangzhou Zhixin High School — Main Ground

Guangzhou Zhixin High School upgraded its main sports ground in 2020 with 144 units of the MS2 Stadium Light, achieving a maintained illuminance of 1,000 lux.

One thousand lux is a serious specification for a school venue — it places the ground in the upper tier of competition-level lighting, supporting inter-school championship fixtures, recorded coverage and high-quality still and video capture of school events. Achieving that level with 144 fixtures depended on optics rather than brute force. Each pole position was allocated a beam distribution and aiming coordinate from the MS2 optical range, building vertical illuminance for player modelling while keeping horizontal uniformity inside a tight tolerance. Because a thousand lux aimed badly is simply a thousand lux of glare, visors and aiming were calculated together to protect athletes looking up for high balls and spectators in surrounding seating. The MS2's die-cast aluminium construction, IP66 sealing and surge-protected driver were specified for Guangzhou's hot, humid, storm-prone climate, and efficient thermal management keeps lumen maintenance on track over a long service life. DALI control provides competition, training and evening scenes from one point.

Commissioned and verified before handover, the installation has run through successive sports seasons without issue. School management highlighted both the championship-level lighting quality and — compared with the system it replaced — the drop in energy and maintenance outlay.
