The 7th CISM Military World Games, held in Wuhan in 2019, required lighting that supported not only competition areas but the larger circulation and service network that keeps a Games venue complex running. Sense contributed 489 units of the QP Tunnel Light, delivered on a two-tier illuminance scheme: 750 lux in the principal operational zones and 500 lux across the surrounding circulation and support areas.
Building the scheme around two classes rather than one allowed each area to receive exactly the level it needed — no over-lighting of secondary zones, and no compromise where activity demanded more. The QP family's sealed linear optical platform was selected for its combination of uniformity and durability; with hundreds of fixtures installed across enclosed routes and service areas, consistency of appearance and reliability of start-up were as important as raw output. High-efficacy LED engines with flicker-free control gear keep television and security cameras clean during broadcast operations, and the IP-rated housing stands up to intensive wash-down cleaning routines. 0-10 V and DALI control allowed scenes to be switched centrally as the Games schedule moved through the day.
Installed and commissioned ahead of the opening ceremony, the installation carried heavy daily throughput throughout the event. Games operations staff noted its stability under continuous operation, and the client has since reused the same specification in later venue developments.
