Alongside the college's main field, Sense delivered 188 QP Tunnel Light units in 2020 across two campus zones - 68 fixtures in one area and 120 in another - at a maintained illuminance of 150 lux.
Campus circulation lighting is judged by different criteria than a pitch: consistency, personal safety, and the feeling of a space that is lit without being lit hard. One hundred and fifty lux is the recognised working level for pedestrian routes and general outdoor campus circulation, and the aim here was even coverage rather than isolated bright points. The QP platform's wide distribution and slim sealed profile suited mounting along building edges, walkways and covered routes, where a fixture must perform without dominating the architecture. DALI-ready drivers allow the whole estate to be programmed centrally - full output at class changeover, reduced output late at night — which is where most of the electricity saving comes from over a year. The IP-rated housing holds out dust and rain, and long-life LED engines eliminate routine re-lamping in positions where access is difficult.
Both zones were commissioned together and handed over in one visit. The college highlighted the improved sense of safety on evening routes between buildings and reported no fixture failures in the period since installation.
